Martha had Jesus in her own house... and missed him, distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. Most of us know exactly how she felt. In this message, Pastor Jason returns to Practicing the Way with a fresh word for a new season: we are all following someone or something, and we are all being formed into someone... the only question is who. Willpower can't change us, more information can't change us, and God rarely zaps us... transformation comes as we arrange our lives around the practices and rhythms of Jesus himself, to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. The message ends with an invitation to an eight-week discipleship group launching this September. The good way is still there at the crossroads... will we walk in it?

Seven letters, seven churches, and seven times the same closing line: "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches." Every letter was written to a real church in a real town... what do these say to a church on the North Road in 2026?

Laodicea had money in the bank, clothes on its back, and doctors down the street... but water so far from its source it made you spit. Lukewarm didn't start as a temperature problem. It was a distance problem, and Jesus is standing at the door with the answer.

To a small, grieving church, Jesus says: I know you have little strength... and I have set before you an open door no one can shut. A word about fear, loss, and walking through the doors God has already opened.

No persecution. No heresy. Nothing wrong — and yet everything wrong. Jesus speaks to the church that looks alive, and to every faith on autopilot: wake up, remember what you received, and come back to the moving water.

The church in Thyatira was Blue-collar, active, and growing—yet deeply compromised. They had learned to compartmentalize faith, trading moral integrity for cultural acceptance and comfort. Pastor Jason unpacks Jesus's call to the church in Revelation 2:18-29, reminding us that God doesn't want just a locked room; He wants our whole lives.

This morning, our service looks a little different as we hear directly from the students who just returned from the 2026 Nazarene Youth Conference in Salt Lake City! Through video interviews and live testimonies, our youth share how they encountered the wonder of God alongside 10,000 other students. Pastor Jason shares a brief reminder from Luke 9 about the Mount of Transfiguration: while mountaintop experiences are beautiful and life-changing milestones, true growth happens as we walk out our faith in the ordinary valleys of everyday life.

It’s easy to overcomplicate our faith. We often treat church like a business, chasing the latest programs or trying to keep ourselves busy with endless activities. But what if God is asking for something much simpler? This morning, Pastor Hunter challenges us with a hard question from 1 Corinthians 11 and points us to the beautiful, anchoring truth of Psalm 103.

The church in Pergamum didn't rebel outright; they slowly blended in, compromising their distinctiveness out of a desire to accommodate the culture around them. Often, the pressure to conform doesn't look like an enemy—it looks like an invitation to just "fit in."

It's easy to focus on the rebellion of the prodigal son, but the real scandal of the story is the radical grace of the father. On this Father's Day, we explore the incredible weight of an earthly father's legacy—the good, the bad, and the absent—while turning our eyes to the ultimate example of love. The good news this morning: no matter your history with your earthly father, you have a Heavenly Father who is not standing with crossed arms waiting to punish you, but is watching the horizon, ready to run to you the moment you come home.

Jesus sat in the temple and watched the wealthy drop large, loud offerings for everyone to hear: but it was a poor widow with two silent pennies who gave the most. We often settle for "$100 moments," putting on a show of obedience that costs us very little, while clutching the hidden, costly things God is actually asking for. The good news this morning: God is not looking for a flashy performance, He is looking for our total surrender, and true freedom is found when we finally let go.

Jesus walked into the temple and flipped the tables of religious routine. He cleared the clutter to restore a house of prayer. Today, that temple is you. The good news this morning: your heart is God's masterpiece, the Father desires to make His home inside you, and true joy is found in His presence.

Paul walked into Athens deeply troubled, and chose neither to wall it off nor to soften the message. He built a bridge. He quoted their poets. He pointed at an empty tomb. The good news this morning: the message is sacred, the methods are not, and Jesus is not far.

Pentecost Sunday. Most of us hate to wait — we want an on-the-go Holy Spirit who fits our full calendar. But before the fire, there was a wait, and the fire fell on the ones who made room. Watch and ask: are you okay to wait for the work of God?
