God Gives First

Before we ever talk about what we give, we need to know the One who gives first. Everything begins and ends with who God is.
Many of us carry around a picture of a God who keeps score, and the church helped paint that picture. In Exodus 34, right after the golden calf, God tells his people who he is… compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. People who have seen who God really is give differently.
