Some seasons feel like waiting. Some feel like too much. Either way, the meantime is not a pause in the life of faith.

Up here we call the in-between season freeze-up, and nobody who has lived here a while just sits in it. The boat comes out, the wood gets stacked, the neighbors check on each other.

In John 11, Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus… so he stayed two more days. But the meantime in Bethany was not empty. Neighbors came. Martha prayed honestly. Jesus wept with them. In exile, God told his people to build houses, plant gardens, and seek the peace of the city. And on Patmos, John kept the Lord’s Day.

The meantime is the life of faith. In any season we can still connect with God, create authentic relationships, and combine our efforts in service.
