A New Song

Harps in their hands. Golden bowls full of prayers. A new song for the Lamb who was slain... a song heaven had never sung before.
Many of us were handed a picture of salvation as a ticket… Jesus pays for our sins, and someday we go to heaven to sit on a cloud with a harp. It can be a comforting picture. But if that is the whole story, the Christian life becomes a waiting room.
Then comes the song. The Lamb was slain, and with his blood he purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation… bought back the way a slave was once bought into freedom. And he has made them a kingdom and priests who will reign on the earth.
Week 5 of WORTHY asks why we were bought. A priest has access to God and carries others to God in prayer… and those golden bowls show that not one of those prayers is lost.
