The Lion Is the Lamb
Revelation 5:5-7

"Do not weep." John hears that the Lion of Judah has triumphed. He turns to look... and sees a Lamb, standing as though slain.
Last Sunday we stopped at verse 4 and stayed in the silence… laments laid at the altar, no answer given. This week one of the elders breaks it: the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. Those titles carried centuries of hope for a warrior king… and in a world not right, that can be the rescuer we find ourselves wanting. John turns to see the Lion. He never does. Not here, not anywhere in Revelation. What he sees is a Lamb, slain and standing at the center of the throne.
Week 4 of WORTHY is the hinge of the whole book. The Lion is not cancelled… the Lamb is how the Lion won. God wins by self-giving love, never coercion, and the wounds are still visible on the victor. So what does it look like to follow a Lamb in how we speak, argue, and treat our neighbors? The service ends at the Lord’s table with communion… the same aisle as last week, this time with empty hands.
