The Scroll and the Tears

A scroll in God's right hand, sealed shut. A search through all creation. No one is found... and John weeps. This week we stay there.
For two Sundays the throne room has been the loudest place in the universe… living creatures who never stop singing, elders throwing down their crowns. In Revelation 5 the camera turns to the right hand of the One on the throne: a scroll, written on both sides, sealed with seven seals. God’s purposes for history, waiting to begin. A mighty angel asks the whole universe, “Who is worthy to open the scroll?” And for the first time in the throne room, silence. No one in heaven or on earth or under the earth. John weeps and weeps.
Week 3 of WORTHY is the one dark Sunday in the series, and it stays dark on purpose. We stop at verse 4. The elder’s answer waits until next week. This Sunday is for anyone for whom history, global or personal, feels sealed shut… and for discovering that tears before the throne are still worship. Scripture makes room for lament. So will we.
